The ideal storage conditions

Wines are best stored in a horizontal position on special wine bottle shelves in the cellar. The optimum storage temperature is 10-15°C. And don’t forget that the humidity in the air should ideally be 70-75%. If the humidity exceeds this value, mold may form on the label; if the humidity is too low, the cork may dry out quickly. And, the cellar should contain no other odors.
Before storing wine after purchase, make sure that each type you’ve bought is suitable for being stored. Some scanty, relatively weak vintages are unsuitable for storage and must be drunk soon. In general, though, it can be said that wine is not fully mature right after it is bottled; indeed, the opposite is often true: it continues to develop in the bottle, where it gradually acquires its special aroma. Sometimes, a wine must age up to 15 years or more before it is completely mature.
